Dancing In The Park: I first met this group of lanky, 21� tall, bronze people on Ile Sainte-Helene (Saint Helen's Island) in front of the British Pavillion at Expo 67 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada where the statues, created by Mario Armengol, (sculptor/artist) were known as the �Family of Man�. Years later they were purchased by Maxwell Cummings and Sons of New Brunswick and donated to the city of Calgary where they can be seen dancing in the park, rain or shine, in front of the Calgary Board of Education building. Wherever I go I am on alert for those fleeting moments when the world reveals a special image with that magical combination of atmosphere, texture, character, and purity, cleverly disguised and woven into the fabric of the every day.
